| General Facility Description |
Constructed in 1928 and renovated in 2005, this air-conditioned hotel offers an outstanding selection of amenities and comprises a total of 3,386 rooms spread over 5 floors. Guests are welcomed in the foyer with 24-hour reception desk, a safe, lifts, a cloakroom, and a currency exchange counter. Further facilities include a conference room, a newspaper stand, a small supermarket, some shops, a hairdresser, 9 bars, and 19 restaurants. Room and laundry services round off this hotel's offerings, and there is a car park for those arriving by car (charges apply).
Renovations of the Rainbow Tower will begin April 11, 2011 and is anticipated to be completed by December 15, 2011. The renovation will include renovating Soft and Hard Goods- i.e. the replacement of tubs, sinks, counters, beds, TV's , etc. The dates and hours of operation are presently scheduled to be: Monday to Friday 7:30- 16:30, some Saturdays for wakeup time and none in Sundays. Drills are out of use until 9h. Please note, that the work is described as "interior" and we do not anticipate this affecting anyone else other than those staying in the Rainbow Tower.
As the Final part of the rainbow Tower rejuvenation please note that the Rainbow lanai will be closed from November 18 through December 23 2011 this was an extension of the previous renovation timeline sent in June. Noise level is expected to be minimal as the restaurant is contained in the rainbow tower. The Tapa Tower will be
re-opened during this period and will provide the same offerings and services and hours as the rainbow tower ? 5:30 am ? 11am
